Vintage enamelware covered casserole in the Villeroy & Boch "Alt Amsterdam" pattern (identified from staff notes and matching listings). The pattern is Delft-inspired: a cream ground with orange, yellow and blue flowers and dark green leaves, a green zigzag band below the rim, and green scrollwork with orange stripes on the lid.

It has a domed lid with a gold-tone rim and a turned brass-tone knob. The two curved side handles are also brass-tone. The pot body is enameled metal. It makes a nice serving piece or a colorful display piece in a kitchen with a Dutch or European country look.

This is a used piece. From the one photo we have, the enamel on the outside looks clean and glossy, with no obvious chips. The metal handles and knob have darkened with age. We haven't inspected the interior, the bottom or the maker's mark in this photo, so please look the piece over in person or ask us for more photos. We have not measured it or checked its capacity, but it seems to be approximately 3QT.
